Nakoma “Great Spirit”

Nakoma, meaning “Great Spirit” celebrates the Seminole Tribe that once inhabited Brooksville and the surrounding areas, featuring symbols and patterns from Seminole arts and crafts, as well as Florida wildlife.

About the Artist:

Rita Taverni and Shaun Stranger

Shaun Stranger and Rita Taverni met in 2011 in Tampa, Florida. Both being artists, they quickly bonded through an appreciation of fine art and modern culture. In 2017 they relocated to Florida’s Nature Coast to focus on creating art in a serene environment. They formed Stellar Design Studio, a partnership specializing in proprietary development, creation, digitization, and licensing of original artwork.

Rita, who has 20 years’ experience in the Wall Décor industry, began her professional career as a decorative painter before transitioning to art restoration, framing and product development. She has created art lines for top interior designers, as well as furniture manufactures and retail chains.

Shaun, an Electrical Contractor by trade, is a master of many art forms including painting, building and sculpture. He is inspired by seeking new perspectives on subject matter through applying unconventional mediums and compositions.
