The recent hurricanes have impacted our Mermaid Tail Trail, leaving some of our beloved mermaids temporarily displaced. Unfortunately, a few of our shimmering friends are currently unavailable for viewing. However, our team is working diligently to restore and reinstall the displaced mermaids. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please check back with us for updates on when these magnificent mermaids will return to their posts along the trail.

Clarise

The mermaid protector of manatees. The ultimate “seacowgirl,” she and her posse of mermaids are expert seahorseback riders. Their sole purpose is to protect their coveted herd. They round up the sea cows and move them from safe place to safe place.

Clarise’s beautiful hair transitions into seagrass, providing the herd with food when hungry. Her tail provides the manatees with a safe haven.

About the Artist:

Marti Vitulli

Marti’s passion for art and horses began at an early age. Someone suggested that you can’t get through life riding and drawing horses. Well…that’s exactly what this artist has done! She’s an accomplished equestrian, winning several regional and national championships on one of her self-trained horses. Her early talent as an artist was first displayed on the PBS show “Inside Out” at the age of 5. She went on to study Psychology and Graphic Design at Winthrop University, earning her B.A. in Psychology. Marti is an accomplished commissioned artist specializing in equine subjects, with her works displayed all over the United States. She is proficient in several mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastels. Marti lives in Lakeland, Florida with her husband, 4 horses, 2 birds, a cat, and a dog.
