The recent hurricanes have impacted our Mermaid Tail Trail, leaving some of our beloved mermaids temporarily displaced. Unfortunately, a few of our shimmering friends are currently unavailable for viewing. However, our team is working diligently to restore and reinstall the displaced mermaids. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please check back with us for updates on when these magnificent mermaids will return to their posts along the trail.

Merrow

Merrow is known for her enchanting beauty and captivating songs. As protector of the sea’s creatures and guardian of maritime secrets, she warns of impending storms guiding lost sailors home. She is deeply intertwined with the power of music and her melodies soothe troubled waters and ensnare sailors’ hearts.

About the Artist:

Sandy Philips

Sandy Philips, a New Jersey native, spent over thirty years as a Legal Administrator before retiring in 2019 and relocating to the serene surroundings of Weeki Wachee, Florida. Now enjoying her retirement, Sandy has returned to a lifelong passion—art.

From a young age, Sandy found joy in drawing and painting, often losing track of time while immersed in her creative process. Her goal as an artist is to connect with others through her work and evoke emotion in those who experience it.

Though she does not have formal art education, Sandy has studied under a highly respected painter and pencil artist, which helped refine her skills and deepen her artistic expression. Her talent has earned recognition through awards in both acrylic painting and pencil drawing, with her work featured in magazines and exhibited in numerous shows.

Sandy is passionate about sharing her craft and hopes to one day inspire and mentor young artists, passing along her love for art and the joy it brings.
