Surrounded by words of hope and empowerment, Susie embodies confidence and fortitude as she meets the challenges of life. She is part of the Breast Cancer Mermaid® Art Collection. Susie is the first statue in the world to honor women with breast cancer.

Joan Casadiego has been immersed in the world of art for as long as he can remember. From a young age, he found joy in drawing and creating, with a mind that constantly sees shapes and sparks new ideas. As a creative artist, Joan is always seeking innovative ways to communicate with his audience—whether through style, medium, or concept.

Refusing to be confined to a single form of expression, Joan has explored a wide range of artistic disciplines over the past 25 years. His work spans photography, sculpture, drawing, digital design, and painting in various mediums. This versatility has allowed him to bring his visions to life in unique and powerful ways.

Joan’s work has been featured in events and art contests across Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania, earning him awards for logo design, painting, and photography—some of which have been published in magazines. His passion for community-centered art projects shines through in his commitment to helping beautify Hernando County and beyond.
