The recent hurricanes have impacted our Mermaid Tail Trail, leaving some of our beloved mermaids temporarily displaced. Unfortunately, a few of our shimmering friends are currently unavailable for viewing. However, our team is working diligently to restore and reinstall the displaced mermaids. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please check back with us for updates on when these magnificent mermaids will return to their posts along the trail.

About the Artist

Lee Middleton

Artist Lee Middleton

Lee Middleton is a local artist living in Brooksville, Florida. He has lived in Florida since 1967 and has witnessed the phenomenal changes in the growth and culture of the state. The way people adapt to those changes offers his inspiration for many of his works using humor and satire.

Lee is a cartoonist at heart. Although self taught, he has developed a certain style that will bring a smile to your face. He was a freelance editorial cartoonist for the former Hernando Today newspaper from 2000 until 2013, when the paper stopped publishing.

Lee’s artwork is now on display and sold through Easy Street Home Decor in Brooksville. His work is scattered throughout some of the local businesses and residences of the area. You can also view his work on Facebook at Lee Middleton Art.

Lee says, “I try to bring out the humor in what individuals perceive as the Florida state of mind.”
